INTERNATIONAL QURAN COMPETITION (2024)

As-salaamu alaikum! Welcome to Studio Arabiya’s 14th International Quran Competition! Our Annual competition is open to EVERYONE – whether you are a student or not. Please read the competition rules below, choose your Surah and age group, then fill out the sign-up form to enter!

Included in this year’s Quran Competition is an optional weekly Quran halaqa, where participants can read for a teacher. Each participant will receive a $10 credit towardsStudio Arabiyaclasses, and we have some great prizes for the top participants in each group!

Entry fee for this year’s competition is $5 per participant. The competition is going to be slightly different this year, so please read below carefully!

Dates:

General Rules:

• This is an international competition, conducted online, and is for EVERYONE.
• There is a $5 entry fee per participant. Entries will not be considered without fee.
• Each participant must register separately with their own account. Parents can add child accounts to their account.
• Participants will choose one surah from the list of their group to recite for the judges. You must NOT have this surah already memorized.
• Changes to Age Group and/or Surah will not be accepted after receiving entry form.
• Adult converts may enter into the age group that contains a surah that has not been previously memorized.
• Participants are welcome to enter into a higher age group for a bigger challenge.
• Each participant can only participate in one age group.
• No entries will be accepted past the deadline.
• Competition will be held in the online Competition Room on dates above.
• Booking times for each entrant will be on a first come, first serve basis. More information will be emailed approx. one week before the competition.

Judging & Judging Rounds:

• Surah should be recited to judges from memory.
• The competition will be held in 2 rounds. The first round will begin for everyone on the dates above. After judging the first round, judges will determine, based on score, who will proceed to the second round and compete for the prizes in your group.
• Judging will be based on memorization, applying the tajweed rules, and aesthetic sound and performance.
• Females judges only will judge the female participants.

Round1:

• Round 1 will be submitted via video file or link to your online video in your portal account.
• The video must have been recorded no earlier than 2 days before the submission date.
• Once video is submitted, your entry is final and replacement videos may not be submitted.
• Video must be clear with good audio. If poor quality, score may be affected or video may be disregarded.
• Any videos submitted after 11:59pm CSTon the submission deadline will not be accepted.
• Participantswill receive an email with information onsubmitting a video for thefirst round.

Round 2:

• Round 2 is a live reading in front of the judges 2 weeks after Round 1.
• Please make sure you are on time.If late or no show, participant will be dropped from competition.
• Please make sure that your video and audio are working well before entering.
• The top 5-25 participants from each age group in Round 1 will be accepted to read for Round 2 (depending on scoring and participation)
• Reading times are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

Winners:

• All winners will be announced approximatelytwo weeks after the 2nd round.
• Winners are requested to share a video or picture and a short bio about your Quran history withStudio Arabiyato use on the social media and/or website.
• Amazongift cards and certificates aresent to the winners online and in digital format. Hard copies will not be sent.
• 1 Month free classes are good for 1 month of classes up to $139 (10 hours) and must be used within 6 months of the Winner Announcement date.
• All participantswill receive a digital certificate in their portal account upon close of the Quran Competition course in your account and after the winners have been announced.
• If participants wish to receive their $10 credit upon completion of the competition, you may request by emailingbilling@studioarabiya.comto apply it to your account. Credit is not added automatically or without request.

Terms & Conditions:

• All finalists and winners are final.
• By submitting a video in the first round, you agree to give rights toStudio Arabiyato use for future promotions and/or posting on social media.
• Due to the vast number of entries, final scores and feedbackcan not be given out to participants.
• Studio Arabiyareserves the right to record auditions for monitoring or marketing purposes.
